Where It Began
Three generations, one kitchen
Kakatoo began with Mdm Irene — one of a group of aunties who loved to cook, and the only one who dared to open the doors. Her daughters, Joyce and Elaine, saw a chance to take Nyonya flavours to the world.
To build a chain without losing the soul, they simplified the family recipes — but never the taste. That’s why every dish still carries the warmth of home.
The name carries the spirit: Kakatoo comes from the Burung Kakatua — as colourful as Nyonya cuisine — and from “Kakak Dua,” the two sisters who carry it forward.
